One of the most disappointing stays at a hotel. And you can check--I don't write reviews often. I chose this hotel specifically for the location and quit vs downtown as I was preparing for an important cancer surgery and trying to make the most of the trip with my mother for mothers day. I booked the room with my Hawaiian/Alaskan miles, the third part unpardonable sin, and made contact with the property multiple times leading up to my stay. During my search, the date criteria was messed up and the hotel was gracious to fix it for me. Again, I made it clear to them what was happening over multiple calls and they were understanding. However, never once did they mention that the hotel was under serious renovation and the balcony suite I booked overlooking the pool was completely sealed off with plastic. You couldn't open doors or windows to the room. The outdoor space that we went shopping for to utilize the grills and amenities were also off limits but no mention of any amenities being unavailable. Luckily we could cook in our room, but that's besides the point. I could have had a balcony room overlooking the city had anyone told me the suite I paid for was pointless. There was also

Overall the hotel is nice. If I could I would give a 4.5. They seem to be about 80% through a renovation of an outdated hotel. I am sure once it complete it will be even better. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient nothing spectacular but good. Room was clean and spacious. The mot so good...Our toliet has to be flushed 2xs to work. bathroom door needs replaced and the bottom of dresser looked like it was in a flood with the particle board coming apart and warped.

I've had good stays here in the past, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. I spent a week here during the same time as a very large group, and the noise level was consistently high from around 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. or later. At one point, I observed children racing baggage carts through the lobby while parents and staff watched and cheered them on. Based on my experience, the hotel seemed focused on accommodating the large group at the expense of other guests. If you're looking for a quieter stay, it may be worth checking whether large group events are scheduled during your visit.
